SJEC’s Nikhil Poojary scripts double victory at Thailand Yogasana Championship

Mangaluru, Sep 10: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, is proud to celebrate a remarkable international achievement by Nikhil A Poojary, IV semester, student of the department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML), who brought laurels to the institution by securing two prestigious first place titles at the 3rd WFFYSI Asia Pacific Yogasana Sports Championship 2026, held in Thailand from September 5 to 9, under the guidance of PED, Vaneesha Rodrigues and assistant PED, Sudheer M.

Competing on an international platform that brought together talented Yogasana athletes from across the Asia-Pacific region, Nikhil A Poojary emerged as a double champion, winning first place in Artistic Solo and first place in Traditional Yoga. His outstanding performances demonstrated an exceptional combination of flexibility, balance, strength, precision, concentration and artistic expression, earning him top honours in both categories.

Nikhil's achievement stands as a testament to his dedication, disciplined practice and unwavering commitment to excellence. Competing at an international championship and securing two championship titles is a remarkable accomplishment that reflects not only his sporting talent but also his ability to excel beyond the academic arena.
