Mangaluru, Jan 28: Karnataka Lokayukta served notice to city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar to examine the matter and submit report over allegations of corruption at Ullal police station. The Lokayukta ordered city police commissioner to provide investigation report and necessary documents by February 14.

The notice is served based on the complaint filed by social worker Mohammed Kabeer, a resident of Ullal.

The complaint filed by Mohammed Kabeer with Lokayukta against Ullal police station inspector Sandeep and sub inspector (SI) Pradeep which says, “Ullal police station inspector Sandeep and SI Pradeep have nominated a broker by the name Hameed in order to take bribe from ganja mafia, sand mafia and hotel owners. In addition, the duo demands money from every citizen and have spoilt the peace of mind of Ullal residents. Both officers have amassed crore of rupees of wealth after they got posted at Ullal police station.

“Though a complaint through email is sent to heads of various departments, chief secretary, DGP, Lokayukta, ACB, ADGP, DC of Dakshina Kannada and city police commissioner, there is no response from anyone,” said the complainant.

The complaint filed by Kabeer also says, “No action is taken against the ganja suppliers in Ullal police station limits. There is also information that the gold and silver confiscated from the thieves of Rajadhani Jewellers of Hosangadi is taken home by inspector Sandeep without submitting it to the court. They caught the thieves even before they travelled five km after the dacoity at Kerala border, based upon the complaint filed by the owner of the taxi with Ullal police station. The accused had hired the taxi on the pretext of going to Baba Budangiri. But the owner of the taxi, over suspicion, went to Manjeshwar.

“Ullal inspector Sandeep, SI Pradeep and other personnel, who took up the investigation of the case, went to Kerala and arrested the thieves. They confiscated 14 kilos of silver, high value watches and more than Rs one lac in cash. But the Ullal police station cops did not hand over the confiscated valuables to Manjeshwar police but shared the booty among them and registered complaint in Mangaluru court.

“The owner of Rajadhani Jewellers had filed complaint with Manjeshwar police. If the car owner and the jewellery shop owner are inquired, truth will out. Rajadhani Jewellers have a shop at Thokottu also. An FIR was filed at Mangaluru court in July, and another FIR at Kasargod court,” he said in his complaint.

City police commissioner N Shashikumar is asked to submit report to Lokayukta investigation with suitable records by February 14.

Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar has been asked to examine the petition and give a report. He has sought for an enquiry report by ACP south and the report will be submitted. The petition is under enquiry with ACP South at present.

I don't expect any results,if inquiry is done by the higher authorities it should be given to other agencies where impartial investigation is done. How can we expect the boss blaming his his subordinates who are cooperative with him.The last result will be no action but transfer.Though all in ullal knows that drugs is in high rampant in ullal and derlakatte, forget gambling which is at peak.I think impartial authority should handle this matter and open report should be given time to time so we the general public will also know some authentic inspection is done

What are you doing in Dubai cleaning arabs toilets instead take up some govt contract work here???…..Come here and do your investigation of 70 years of congress rule and find out how many contractors committed suicide for lack of funds to complete govt projects due to demand for 40% commission by your ministers. FYI, contractors Suicide notes are the report card of your wide spread corruption. BTW, all those contractors were Hindus whom you killed. Show some sympathy to them instead of defending your corrupt and religionless govt.
