Mumbai, Oct 8: An event featuring actor Salman Khan in Mumbai on Thursday evening has been postponed as a mark of respect following the death of veteran actor Nana Patekar.
Khan was scheduled to attend the event hosted by GB Realty along with its Chairman and Managing Director Gurinder Bhatti. The function was scheduled at Taj Lands End in Bandra from 6 pm onwards.
Khan and Patekar had worked together in the acclaimed 1996 musical drama Khamoshi: The Musical, in which Patekar played the mute father of the female lead, portrayed by Manisha Koirala, while Khan played the male lead.

Patekar, 75, died at his residence in Goa on Thursday after suffering severe chest pain in the early hours of the morning. Despite emergency responders administering CPR for nearly 45 minutes, he could not be revived.
According to Dr Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Department of Oncology at Manipal Hospital, Patekar had informed a friend around 2.30 am that he was feeling unwell and experiencing pain on the left side of his chest. The friend later reached the actor's residence and found him sweating and gradually losing consciousness.
Dr Salkar said Patekar's caretaker was sent to the hospital to arrange an ambulance. The emergency team then reached the residence and began CPR after finding the actor completely unresponsive.
CPR was continued while Patekar was being taken to Manipal Hospital, where he was brought at around 4.20 am. Doctors continued resuscitation efforts, including cardiac massage and CPR, for nearly 45 minutes. However, he did not respond and was declared dead at around 5.20 am.
Speaking about the actor's final moments, Dr Salkar said Patekar was brought to the hospital without signs of life, but the medical team made every effort to revive him.
Patekar was known for his performances in films including Ankush, Parinda, Angaar, Tirangaa, Krantiveer, Ab Tak Chhappan, Apaharan, Taxi No. 9211 and Welcome. His death has prompted tributes from across the Indian film industry.
