Hyderabad, Oct 9: Actor Nani has come on board as the presenter of Nithiin’s upcoming Telugu film Alias Rukmini, which is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 4.
The makers announced the release date on Friday, October 9, and said further details about the film’s central character would be revealed on October 13. Nani described the project as the “most beautiful Telugu film of the year”.
Produced by Deepthi Ganta under the banner of Unanimous Productions, the film is written and directed by Murali Kanth Devasoth. The production house shared the release announcement on social media with a cryptic message referring to Krishna’s love story, adding to the curiosity surrounding the film.
The announcement follows the release of the film’s title glimpse in August, which introduced audiences to its unusual premise. The video begins with a conversation between Nani and director Murali, who tells him that the story revolves around Krishna.
As the visuals unfold, Nithiin is seen asleep in a chair, while books with sensual themes feature prominently. Nani notices that the books appear to have been written by someone named Rukmini and questions the director about the character. Nithiin then wakes up and reveals that Rukmini is his wife. The exchange ends with Nani expressing approval of the story and asking when shooting could begin.
Nithiin had earlier expressed confidence in the film, saying the story was aimed at winning the hearts of audiences.
The team completed its first shooting schedule in September. The 10-day schedule reportedly covered key scenes featuring Nithiin, Sai Kumar, Harsha Vardhan and other cast members.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Jomon T John, music composer Vijai Bulganin, editor Srujana Adusumilli and costume designer Rekha Boggarrapu. Ramana Madhavaram is the co-director.
With Nani presenting the film and the December 4 release date confirmed, the makers are expected to share further details about Alias Rukmini on October 13.
