Mangaluru: Hindi Diwas observed at SAC

Mangaluru, Sep 25: On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, the department of Hindi and Hindi Sangh of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), here, on September 16 jointly organized a national level guest lecture on the topic 'Naye Shiksha Niti- 2020 Me Hindi Bhasha Ka Bhavishy' (Future of Hindi Language In New Education Policy 2020).

The chief guest of the programme was Dr Jayanthi Prasad Nautiyal (Rtd deputy general manager, Corporation Bank, Mangaluru, director-general, Global Hindi Research Institute, Dehradun, Uttarakhand) who spoke on the importance of language, culture and society. During the questionnaire session, he said that language and culture are social assets. Earlier, education was to get a job but in the new education policy, the focus is mainly on entrepreneurship.

Fr Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, principal, presided over the programme and delivered the presidential remarks. Dr Mukunda Prabhu, head of the department, welcomed the gathering and also introduced the chief guest.

More than 400 participants from all over India participated in the guest talk. Many research scholars, professors, students cleared their doubts on the topic.

The programme was compered by Dr Mamatha N R and M A Nadaf delivered the vote of thanks.
