Kannadigas arrive at Kannur airport from Dubai, face hardships

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Kannur, Jun 29: Dismissing rumours of passengers who landed in Kannur from Dubai escaping from quarantine, the passengers clarified to Daijiworld that the news reported by some media is wrong and no one had skipped the process of quarantine.

Over 150 Kannadigas stranded at Dubai had planned to fly to Mangaluru. They also registered themselves for being quarantined in Mangaluru, it is learnt. But the private flight by which they had planned to return here failed to get clearance to land at Mangaluru because of some document-related issues. Therefore, the flight landed at the Kannur airport where the passengers were quarantined in hotels of Kasargod.

On arrival at Kannur, the passengers were advised to undergo seven days quarantine at Kannur and seven more days at Mangaluru. The passengers, who had already lost their jobs, and who had opted Mangaluru as their quarantine centre, expressed their reservations as they would have been forced to meet hotel bills twice.

After they reached Kasargod and were quarantined at a hotel for 12 hours, the district collector ordered seal down of the hotel and asked the people under quarantine to move out. Therefore the people passed through Talapady border with Karnataka by providing all information and by registering in Seva Sindhu app.

It has also been clarified that the news that some of the people who have come from Dubai had escaped from getting quarantined, is false. All of them have been quarantined in three hotels, the passengers informed Daijiworld.

When the passengers reached Talapady border, they faced some problems. MLA U T Khader, went to the spot and attended to their needs. They have since been quarantined in three hotels in the city.

Why should anyone indulge in any shadow boxing ??? North Kerala is predominantly a stronghold of a minority community.... whereas Coastal Karnataka is dominated by the majority community !!!!

"Dismissing rumours of passengers who landed in Kannur from Dubai escaping from quarantine, the passengers clarified " - this does not clear the rumours...if this flight was ferrying karelites, and the passengers went through this rigmarole, may be this was believable...

It is possible that this was just drama since passengers were Mangalurians, the quarantine requirement was staged, firstly to get some business for empty kasaragod lodges at the cost of Mangalureans and secondly to cover the real state of affairs regarding other flights arriving in Kerala carrying kerala residents...

how can a flight be chartered for Mlr and not be allowed to land in mangalore??? if this is true, this would be known before the flight...there is some crookedness here...most probably the aircraft staff or management has some preference to land in Kannur than Mangaluru, that is why they created this story...the passengers have been taken for a high ride, made to believe that they will go Mlr whereas the flight would go to Godsave country...

In Mangalore, many times conductors shout "udupi, manipal...udupi, manipal.." after the bus reaches Udupi bus stand, they ask all passengers to get down, telling manipal passengers to get down and take another bus to Manipal...

Very Sad. What are the technical difficulties only for Karnataka and Mangalore District. Looks like vested interest are behind this. Shame on Karnataka Chief Minister and our MPs, and MLAs. When they are not coming to the help of their own people, When people arrange chartered flights, they are in real problem.

The NRI's of Middle East is only remembered by the ruling BJP for fund raising. During the Lok Sabha elections even they arranged tickets in exchange for votes.

Today these NRI's are facing the crisis worst than the migrant laborer. The BJP government which increasing the fuel prices saying to help of poor now making jobless NRI's more poor.

Please test all passengers at their cost, they will not be that poor to afford it, some genuine cases may be borne by govt. Every day the number of cases are increasing & majority are either gulf returned or connected to them.Follow Kerala model.

Which document required to land at Mangalore Airport other than Kannur Airpot?

You must ask this question with your elected representatives than just a comment here. Voting rights is a most powerful rights, use it reasonably.

Reach and every Kerala MPs and MLAs are held accountable for their work by the people in Kerala, that what makes a public work and facilities much capable and better.

For those who wants to jump on me, please stay away, not here for debate, use your votes and justify what you get for it.
