Udupi, Aug 20: "It is wrong to listen to anyone else's conversation over the phone without his or her knowledge. It is important to know who, why, when and whose phone tapping is done. Truth has to be unveiled from the investigation. There is no need for anyone to feel guilty, if she or he has committed any mistake. But if the position is utilized for ulterior motives, let that come out in the inquiry. This is the intention of the government," said Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje.

Shobha spoke to the scribes on Monday, August 19. She further said, "If any leaders are ready to face investigation, it is really good. If former CM Kumaraswamy has not done any wrong, let him be happy. It is a happy matter to us also. Siddaramaiah wanted the phone-tapping to be investigated. So naturally an order is given for the inquiry. The truth has to come out. If no one has committed any mistake, the whole state will be happy."

Reacting on the accusation that Vijayendra, son of CM Yediyurappa is involved in the business of transfers, Shobha said, "I do not know anything on this subject. I am busy in my own work. After the formation of the government, I was in parliament sessions and later in tour of flood-affected areas. Lots of loss and damage has taken place in Moodigere and Koppa taluks. I am not bothered about anything else. If my phone is tapped there is no problem. I will not speak against the society or the nation."

"Proper survey needs to be done for the flood relief work. I have instructed the district administration to take as much time as required and do the survey. Once the survey is ready, flood relief grant will be released. CM Yediyurappa has given the list to the party high command with regards to the expansion of the state cabinet. The decision of selecting ministers is up to the CM and High command. The list will come before the oath taking ceremony on Tuesday," said Shobha.

MP Shobha concluded by saying, "The flood relief study team may come any time. Home minister and finance minister of union government have already visited the flood-affected areas of the state. I am not missing state politics. I am happy as an MP."
