Because of heavy rain coupled with strong wind, a frond of the coconut tree had fallen on power lines in Ramachandrappa Gardon in Cox Town here. At around midnight on Saturday, Sathish unknowingly stepped on live wire that had got lodged on the road and got electrocuted.

The wind which coupled rain also caused 56 trees from all over the city to get uprooted. Many vehicles were damaged, a few were injured, and traffic was thrown out of gear as a result.
