Mangaluru, Apr 10: 'Sai Prem', a luxury apartment-cum-commercial complex by city-based Land Trades Builders and Developers was inaugurated at Mannagudda here on Friday, April 10.

Srinath Hebbar, MD of Land Trades welcomed the gathering and extended a floral welcome to the guests.

P Jayarama Bhat, managing director and CEO, of Karnataka Bank inaugurated the complex and said, "We all have seen Srinath Hebbar's achievements in Mangaluru. He has been giving good apartments to the people. He has built a very good apartment with all the amenities in this ideal location. His Mourishka Palace which is under construction is coming up very beautifully. He has been giving good projects without compromising on quality. We are happy to have customers like him associated with our Bank. He is doing this business not with profit motive but to as a service to society."

MLA J R Lobo in his presidential speech said, "I congratulate Srinath Hebbar on completing his projects on time, which is a major concern today. I congratulate Karnataka Bank as it is opening a new branch in this building. We have to support a businessman when he newly enters into business. We should appreciate him and not pull him down. Only then will there be good people in any industry. When we pull down a businessman, he goes out of business and wrong people might enter into that industry which will create various problems.

"I also want to use this platform to give a call to people to cooperate when there is any road extension work. I congratulate Land Trades and wish all success in their future endeavours," he added.

Shashidar Hegde, Prakash Salian, Naveen D'Souza, Jayanthi, corporators Sadananda Shetty, chairman of Sri Devi Institute and opposition leader of MCC Sudhir Shetty were present.

These apartments cater to only the richie rich of Mangalore. No builder caters to the needs of ordinary individuals with budgetary restraints. Nowadays affording either a decent flat or a small independant house in Mangalore is impossible for a common man. The flats are lying vacant and unsold still when we enquire about the availability to purchase, it appears like a mission impossible.
