Sullia: Youth from Virajpet arrested for 'abduction' of minor girl

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Jun 5: The personnel of the local police station have arrested a youth from Virajpet on charges of kidnapping a minor girl and hiding her.

The accused Shivappa (24) has been handed over to the policemen of Kodagu district.

Pooja (16, name changed) from Cherambane, Kodagu, and Shivappa from Virajpet, were in love with each other. It is said that the girl was introduced to Shivappa through a relative from her mother’s side. The two developed a relationship in course of time.

On May 24, both Pooja and Shivappa went missing.

Based on a complaint filed at Virajpet police station, the policemen began investigation. They found that the mobile tower signals gave the location of Shivappa’s cell phone as under the area covered by the BSNL mobile tower at Adkar near here. This information was passed on to the Sullia police, who swooped on the residence of Naveen from Peralu in Mandekolu village, after making enquiries, and succeeded in finding the lovers there.

Naveen is said to be a friend of Shivappa, and as such, had sheltered the couple at his home. As the girl happens to be a minor, Shivappa is facing the charge of abduction.

Instead of making this affair turn into a tragedy, parents should relent and ask the boy, in front of police authorities\panchayat committee if he is ready to marry that girl right away (It will be difficult for her or her parents to get anther boy to marry her, for a longtime to come unless there is someone with very modern outlook on such things.
Marry them off. Their action suggested they wanted to live together. Parents help them settle down i\o starting blame game, which may result in something serious.

I found nothing wrong with these lads except the Mobile Tower which gives right signal regarding whereabouts of culprits. I think, after few days, our Political Leaders will make a complaint with Central Ministry of Tele Communication to remove the Mobile Tower by giving radiation problem.
