Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Feb 8: Ravi (40), driver of a tanker, died at a hospital in the city on Monday February 6 night.

Ravi had parked his tanker in the tanker yard in front of BASF factory in Kana, Suratkal, on Monday afternoon. He had ignited a mosquito coil inside his cabin to ward off insects. The coil, in course of time, gave rise to fire in the cabin, which spread later and inflicted serious injuries on Ravi.

The locals, who saw smoke emanating from the cabin of the tanker, checked out and brought Ravi, who was suffocated and injured, out. They admitted him into a hospital in the city. However, he could not be revived, and breathed his last on Monday night.

It is learnt that Ravi was from Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu.
