Konkani Kutam Bahrain Celebrates Monthi Fest

Bahrain, Sep 18: Konkani Kutam Bahrain celebrated Nativity Feast jointly with Karnataka Social Club on September 16 at Karnataka Social Club premises.

The celebrations started with children colourfully dressed to honour Mother Mary came in procession before the gracefully decorated statue. Richard Moras, the convener of Konkani Kutam welcomed the members, guests and dignataries.

Fr Freddy D'Souza, the Assistant Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church blessed the new corn. In his address he emphasized the significance of Nativity Feast spiritually as well as depicting the family values.

The children offered flowers to Mother Mary with mellifluous hymn "Moriyek Hogalsiyam".

The cultural programme followed consisting of songs, dances and comedy skits. The cultural programme commenced with the song "Sobith Fullam" with the lively voice of Adlyn, Melissa, and Rianna. Ashly Alva was at her best with the dance "Cheddum Bombaychem".

Well known singers in Bahrain, Sydney Correa, Richard Pais, Austin Monteiro, Cynthia D'Souza, Lavina Dantis, Muriel Gomes and Melba Martis participated in two group songs. Two hilarious skits were presented by Stany D'Souza, Sujay Pinto, George Menezes and Maxim D'Souza. A group dance was presented by Rensilla, Evita, Cleta, Lavita, Edna and Michelle. The music was provided by Austin Monteiro and Elston D'Souza.

Walter Dantis, a well known Konkani activist compered the programme.

Sumptuous dinner was served by Papillon Restaurant.
