Mangaluru: Biruver Kudla Dubai unit extends Rs 1.65 lac aid to two needy families

Mangaluru, Jul 16: Biruver Kudla, an organisation known for its humanitarian activities and support to thousands of families, distributed financial assistance totalling Rs 1.65 lac to two needy families through its Dubai unit at a programme attended by MLAs Dr Bharat Shetty and Vedavyas Kamath.

The organisation provided Rs 55,000 towards the treatment of an ailing child and Rs 1,10,000 to support the medical treatment of Durgaprasad, who is suffering from a serious illness.

Speaking on the occasion, Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharat Shetty lauded the organisation for its selfless service over the years, cutting across caste and religious barriers. He said it was a matter of pride that Kannadigas working in Dubai were extending support to people in their native place. "Organisations like Biruver Kudla are the true backbone of society," he remarked.

Presiding over the programme, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath appreciated the efforts of Biruver Kudla founder-president Uday Poojary and his team. He expressed hope that the organisation would continue its commendable service in the years ahead and assured his full support for the youth-led social initiative.

Dubai unit president Sandeep Kotian said like-minded people from the region who are employed abroad have been pooling funds under the inspiration of Biruver Kudla founder-president Uday Poojary to help those in need. He said the Dubai unit was pleased to provide Rs 1.65 lac in financial assistance to two deserving families.

Leaders present at the programme praised the organisation's contributions, noting that over the past eight years, Biruver Kudla has extended more than Rs 10 crore in assistance for medical treatment, education, and house construction. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the organisation earned appreciation for providing free ambulance services and distributing ration kits. The establishment of a Dubai chapter to continue humanitarian work has also received widespread recognition.

Among those present were Bolur Mogaveera Mahasabha president Subhash Bolur, Vasanth Poojary, Ace Developers owner Darshan Jain, Ran Deep Kanchan, Biruver Kudla founder-president Uday Poojary, president Rakesh Ballal Bagh, Ashwin Raj Chilimbi, Lohith Gatti, Ram Ekkur, Dinil Ballal Bagh, Girish Bolur, Ganesh Ekkur, Ritesh Ullal of the Dubai unit, district and taluk committee office-bearers of the organisation, social workers, donors, and family members of the beneficiaries.
