Mangaluru: Youth killed in Bikarnakatte pothole accident – Netizens slam officials on social media

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Aug 11: Public is expressing anguish on the officials for their apathy of not filling the potholes in the city, because of which Aatish (20), a scooter rider, lost his life last Friday at Bikarnakatte Kandettu cross when he tried to evade a pothole on the road.

Netizens have demanded to file a murder complaint against the concerned officials. Some others have vented anger against people’s representatives also.

Aatish

Aatish was riding from Nanthoor Junction to Bikarnakatte on Friday at around 6.45 pm. Due to rain he did not notice the pothole that lied just before Kandettu cross. When he tried to evade the pothole at the last moment, he lost control and crashed onto the divider. His head hit against the iron reflector railing on the divider. Though he was rushed to hospital, he succumbed on the way.

If the PM or the President were supposed to pass thru that road, it would have been a smooth, shiny and a brand new road overnight.

That same pothole is still there. People can slam, but they are thick skinned. They are not in social media. Protests or slamming them is only on social media. So no effect.....

I'm surprised by the fact that tolls are still being paid at the toll gates :) In such a case, only after the road repairs, people should pay the tolls. Thank you Daijiworld for bringing out the facts. Justice always prevails!! We miss you Athish. You will always be in our memories and prayers.

Purely officials and our beloved politicians are responsible for his death. Officials, MLA and MP should be held accountable for this and they need to send them to jail. Why we have MLA's and MP's? It seems they are here to eat public money and live lavish life on freebies. We need strong MLA's and MP's who really care for the people. People voted for Modi and religion and this is the outcome. Hope our wise voters realise this and will do the needful in next elections.

Kids have to die to wakeup the sleeping officials. A child drowned due to neglected foot bridge, now they are building a new one costing 10 lakhs minus 40%. Bike rider died, now they will repair the road minus 40%. Only 60% pothole will be filled.
