Thailand: Tulukoota Bangkok honours Nandalike-Bolar duo at Thai-Tuluvere Aayano

Thailand, Jul 7: Tulukoota Bangkok, Bangkok Thailand presented Thai-Tuluvere Aayano at Lotus Hotel, Sukhumvit here on July 2.

Popular Tulu comedy series 'Private Challenge' pair, Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld and 'Tulunanda Manikya' Aravind Bolar were the guests of honour at the event.

The guests of honour were welcomed by Tulukoota Bangkok president Naveen Roshan Pinto and committee members Praveen Kumar, Vinay K Rai and other senior Tulukoota members. Praveen Tauro, marketing manager of Daijiworld media, was also present.

Aravind Bolar and wife Savitri, Walter Nandalike and wife Wilma Nandalike and Naveen Roshan Pinto lit the lamp. The prayer was sung by Akshatha Praveen and Bhuvi. 

Naveen Roshan Pinto welcomed the gathering explaining the meaning of ‘aayano’. He said “Even though the Tuluvas in Bangkok are very few, we are very active because of our sarva dharma unity in Thailand.”

On behalf of senior members of the Tulukoota, Laxminarayan said how Tulukoota Bangkok was incorporated formally even though Tuluvas were meeting quite often informally. He shared how important it is to stay united as a community and carry on the legacy of Tulu culture.

A short video comprising popular scenes from movies of Aravind Bolar were played which was edited by John Wilson Pinto. Rajath Raj shared a brief introduction about Bolar’s personal life, professional career and accomplishments.

Similarly, a short video of Walter Nandalike with glimpses from popular show – Private Challenge was played. Rajath shared a brief introduction about his background, media career and emphasized on how Private Challenge show was accepted and became the viewers’ top choice in coronavirus times and continues to be one of the most popular shows of entertainment till date.

Aravind Bolar and Walter Nandalike were felicitated by presenting a bouquet, gift basket and manadige. Arvind Bolar was felicitated by Vinay Rai, Praveen Kumar, Ravindra Amin, Raghavendra Panambur, Yashodhar Poojary and Wilson Pinto while Walter Nadanlike was honoured by Habib Saheb, Laxminarayana, Shivaprasad Poojary, Nitin Prabhu, Deepak Shetty, Michael Veigas and Vittal Shetty.

Walter Nandalike said, “I am very fortunate to work with Aravind Bolar in ‘Private Challenge’ for 100 episode in two seasons put together. We need to learn one thing from Aravind Bolar is to be down to earth. The credit for the success of ‘Private Challenge’ goes to Aravind Bolar who agreed for any role given in the 100 episodes.

“During the ‘Corona Gellona’ programme, I had received a call, even from Thailand. I had interacted with the artiste from outside Mangaluru via zoom and entertained the audience. It is also a proud moment for all of us being Tuluvas to see Tulu and Konkani assists in the flight. I thank everyone for inviting us for the programme. MX Player and Hungama have contacted us to stream Private Challenge. If they stream the show, it will be first Tulu programme to be streamed on such a big platform,” he said.

Tulunada Manikya Aravind Bolar said, “The word Aayano means festival. In Tulu culture, the word has its own meaning. The programme here is beautifully organized. The bonding between Walter Nandalike and myself is like my own brother who has deep concern over my health. The programme shows the love and affection towards Tulu language. Every community will be included in Tulu language irrespective of caste and religion. For an artiste, it is always difficult to make one smile. May God bless us to bring smile on others faces. Private Challenge has reached masses across the globe and with people’s love and affection, we have reached this far.”

Thular Rai and Bhavya Shetty were present for event from Max Life Insurance, India. They were the main sponsor for the event. They were felicitated with bouquet. Thular Rai addressed the gathering and thanked for the courtesy extended.

A recently released Tulu rap song ‘Daala Unda’ was promoted through Tulukoota Bangkok Association during the event. The Tulu rap song has been written and sung by Sachin Shetty of Shutter Box Movies.
Bhuvi performed a dance on a popular Tulu song, Cienna Veigas performed a dance on another popular Tulu song, and Shreya Bhakta perfumed a dance on a medley from popular Tulu movies. Fun games and a quiz competition was conducted by Delora Lorraine Pinto for Tulukoota family and guests of honour.

Nitin Prabhu thanked the guests of honor and all Tulukoota family, members and association for conducting the event in a well-organized manner.

Rajath Raj was emcee for the programme who explained the background of Tulunadu, culture, heritage and importance of the gathering on the day and shared that Tulukoota Bangkok is an offshoot of Thai Kannada Balaga, Thailand which is a mother organization based out of Bangkok and operating for 18 years. Nithin Prabhu rendered the vote of thanks.
