Mangaluru: VHP, BD urge for strict implementation of ban on cattle transportation for sacrifice

Mangaluru, Jul 2: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal (BD) urged that the prohibition on transportation of cattle for sacrificial purpose (Qurbani) and the ban on offering of Qurbani should be strictly implemented.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Kateel Dinesh Pai, Goraksha Pramukh of VHP said, “For Hindus, cow, calf and bull are sacred. According to section 4 of Karnataka Cattle Anti-slaughter and Protection Act, cow, calf, bull or ox of any age should not be given as sacrifice at any place by people of any religion. The offenders are subjected to rigorous punishment. If any one comes to know about illegal transportation of cattle, they can call 112 or animal helpline on 2277100200.

“The police department should put check gates at strategic places and prevent violation of the act. Police department should immediately spring into action as soon as they get information on cow theft or transportation and arrest the culprits,” he said.

    all processes applicable to human beings should be implemented for cattle... birth / marriage / death certificate, biometric based id, voter card (voting will be done by owner) etc. etc. On the cultural front, all functions / processes such as ನಾಮಕರಣ, ಉಪನಯನ, cremation, ವೈಕುಂಠ etc. etc. etc..

    First they were against cow/ox slaughter as consumption of food or sacrifice, now they are forcing for ban on Qurbani including other animals.. First of all none will take seriously for their statement on Qurbani ban. Let them keep barking. All they want is disturbance of peace and create tense atmosphere to garner hindu sympathy.

    Drainge system is there. Municipality is lazy . ..they are supposed to clean quarterly.....forget ...quarterly at least once in a year before monsoon they should clean. Rain is normal......This is man made disaster for greed of 40% commission. Buildings are encroaching the drainages and build walls on them by covering fully. So many so many bldgs are come up in Mangaluru.....Where the water will flow if drains are blocked or not cleaned periodically. Now, they are blaming the rain ...nature's fury it seems....
