Udupi: Ambagilu-Manipal road turns into nightmare for commuters

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Jun 29: A unique sloppy work of applying cement patch on an asphalt road is seen on Ambagilu-Manipal road in the city.

Ambagilu-Perampalli-Manipal road was broadened recently with Asphaltization. Though the road was newly constructed, before the completion of the work itself, some potholes could be seen on the road. As the public expressed anguish, the contractor did the patchwork in haste. The road contractor has put cement patch on the pothole areas of asphalt road, which is posing huge danger for commuters, especially two wheeler riders.

The road joins Coin Circle at Manipal, where the public is facing inconvenience as the work is left half done. Road work at a distance of 100 meters from Sairadha Green Valley apartments is still not begun. No warning signs in the area are posing danger to vehicle riders.

Mud is dumped by the side of the road neat Club Ecstasy. This flows on to the road during rains, thereby posing danger for two wheeler riders. In the same area, the contractor is getting the road divider work done which again poses hindrance for free flow of traffic.

The public is questioning the standard of work that is being done on a project on which Rs 23 crore is being spent. If this is not set right, the vehicle riders will face danger during monsoon for sure.

No doubt it is very nice to have 4lane road now, however quality of work to be questioned since there are already potholes and sudden curve near food corporation is very dangerous. Hope authorities will look into it before someone fall victim of this.

When the road for PM's travel was made the way we all read how can any of us imagine this road to be finished in true civil engineering norms???... We have only progressed politically and corruption wise... We are going back morally and ethically as well as accountabilitywise...
