Bantwal: 24-year-old labourer dies in scooter accident on national highway

Bantwal, Jun 27: In an accident involving scooters, one of the riders sustained serious injuries and died as he did not respond to medical treatment on Sunday June 26.

The deceased has been identified as Nawaz (24), son of Hamza, a resident of Gampadadda near Punjalakatte.

On Sunday, at around 10.45 pm, Rajesh, a resident of Kelaginabettu mane in Nyayatharpu village of Beltangady taluk was going with his father towards Beltangady on a scooter when his vehicle met with an accident against the one that Nawaz was riding on the national highway at Madanthyar.

Rajesh and his father were admitted to Bantwal government hospital for treatment of their injuries and Nawaz who had sustained serious injury was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru where Nawaz breathed his last.

A case has been registered at the Punjalkatte police station.

Hamza has four sons and Nawaz was his third son. Nawaz was working as a labourer.
