Mangaluru International Airport sees increase in passenger footfalls since four months

Mangaluru, Jun 11: The number of passengers flying from international airport in the city has increased in the past four months. In the month of May highest number of international flights were handled at the airport.

Due to Covid, the number of flights arriving and departing from the airport were reduced for the past two years. Now the situation has improved and the airport is recording more number of flights.

In the month of May 2022, 1,313 flights arrived and departed from the airport. This includes 926 domestic and 365 international flights. This number is the highest since October 2021.

From Last October the number of passengers arrived at the airport is 1,19,838 (October), 1,16,423 (November), 1,38,369 (December), 92,012 (January), 1,03,004 (February) and 1,36,822 (March). The numbers include both domestic and international passengers.

The number of passengers shot up to 1,46,080 and May recorded highest of 1,67,180. In April, 1147 flights including 794 domestic, 332 international and 21 general were handled by the airport staff.
