Mangaluru: National level intercollegiate fest ‘Imperia’ inaugurated at St Agnes College

Mangaluru, May 19: The national level intercollegiate fest ‘Imperia’ saw the light of the day on the Thursday May 19. The fest commenced when the chief guest Nihal Tauro, Indian Idol finalist and the pride of the city, was accompanied by Sr Dr Venissa AC, principal, Sr Dr Lydia AC, joint secretary, Sr Carmel Rita AC, administrator, Sr Clara AC, vice-principal, Charles Pais, registrar, Dr R. Nagesh, staff co-ordinator, Rhea Sequeira, student president and all the staff co-ordinators were welcomed by the college band.

The college choir invoked God’s blessings through a prayer song followed by a dance to introduce the theme of the Agnofest – IMPERIA 2022. Dr R Nagesh, the staff co-ordinator of Imperia 2022 welcomed the audience. Nihal Tauro who is a proclaimed environmentalist was welcomed by the principal with a pot of flowers. The student president Rhea Sequeira gave the audience an overview of the events for Imperia 2022. While the lighting of the lamp marked the opening of the fest, the grand unveiling of the trophies of Imperia 2022 was a rare wonderment in itself and marked the symbolic inaugural of the fest Imperia 2022. Dr Ita D’Souza, head department of Chemistry, introduced the Indian Idol finalist sensational music artist, singer and songwriter Nihal Tauro. The chief guest was felicitated by all the guests on the dais.

In his address, the chief guest inspired the audience with his motivational words highlighting the potential hidden in the students. He asked them to come out of their fear zone and added to the magnificence of the inaugural with his melodious singing. Sr Dr Lydia AC invited the students to become leaders. She welcomed the participants to Imperia 2022 and wished them a day of. Prajwal, staff in-charge for science proposed the vote of thanks at the inaugural ceremony.
