May 17: DK reports six Covid cases, Udupi adds one infection

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 17: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, May 17, reported six coronavirus cases while Udupi registered one infection.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,554 out of which 19 are currently active.

Three patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

One case was reported on Tuesday. The total active Covid case have risen to three.

No patient was discharged from hospitals on Tuesday.

Udupi taluk reported 1 case, Kundapura 0 and 0 case in Karkala.

A total of 10,84,450 people have received first dose of vaccination and 1053081
have received both doses and 69,112 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
