Shivamogga: Lecturer ends life, lover flees from wedding hall, bride attempts suicide

Shivamogga, Mar 21: In a rapid turn of events, a lady killed herself, having been frustrated over the fact that her long-time lover married another girl on Sunday March 20. On learning about this, the groom vanished from the wedding hall. The bride too tried to kill herself but survived. These incidents happened on Sunday.

Roopa (28), a lecturer residing on O T Road in the city hanged herself on Sunday as soon as the lecturer with whom she was involved in a love affair, married someone else. Roopa and Murali, lecturers in the city, were in love with each other for the last four to five years. But Murali married some other girl in a marriage hall here. At the auspicious Muhurat, when Mural tied the customary 'Taali' around the bride's neck, Roopa hanged herself at her home.

Murali, who came to know of this development, fled from the marriage hall. The bride who came to know of the incident, tried to end her life in the marriage hall. Her parents admitted her into a hospital here. The police have registered a case, and are searching for Murali.

    very sad to hear, lecturers highly studied students though teach the students good and disadvantage of bad things , First of these kind of people study the moral science like Bhagwad Geeta and it doctrines so tat they can star good married life .I believe deceased should get few lakhs of Rs as compensation by Sivmogga community .

    Well explained Naveen. The ruling party keeps building a maze on religion, clothes, food, education, moral teaching, marriage and has all of thrown into that pit together. We are busy fighting and clawing at each other and they keep winning. Just imagine what ‘if ‘ it was a groom who played this game and fooled two innocent women. Where are the so called desh premis ?

    Now new syllabus going to be introduced and let us hope people will refine and live and practice decent (non-rowdy) way of life and without any hatred towards minorities religion.     Sadiq Mangalore .Yes he married a different woman.But loved a different for years .That means he never loved her ?Only misused?Now he ran away hearing lover suicide .Very tragic.No guts to face or tell her he doesnt want to marry her .Otherside he even not tell newly wed girl about his affair. Now perfect everything .He doesnt have lover nagging at the back?Shame on him.Only feel pity for the parents of the girl his ex .Heartfelt sympathy to them.May her soul rest in peace.One should kick back such men on the right part.

    This monstrous lecturer ruined the lives of two women in one stroke of greed. He might have been offered a big fat dowry and that led him to ditch the girl lecturer who really loved him - and in his panic, when he heard the real girl who loved him killed herself, he vanished leaving the marriage ceremony high and dry. He is the real culprit and has to be punished for assisting in the suicide and in the suicide attempt. His days are numbered.

    We must never consider relationships as toys that can be disposed of in exchange of a new one.... While we do not know the full details of the story, boy seems to be the culprit here.... Knowing fully well what might happen he should not have taken this step of spoiling the future of two lives.... RIP to the departed soul.... Wishing speedy recovery to the survivor.... Life is large and she must find another sane partner...
