Great to know that Fr. Dr. Leo D'souza has been felicitated and that he has completed 90 years. Congradulations to him. We of the 1981 -1984 Batch of Science have had felt a geat pride in knowing him as our Principal. He was a pioneer in the field of coconut research , in fighting coconut wilt disease. His research into the technique of propogating healthy coconut saplings from the healthy leaf of disease resistant plants using tissue culture was held in high regard and pride by us all. An inspiration to all Aloysians !!!

During my college days at St.Aloysius Mangalore, I had interacted with Dr.Fr.Leo sir, And amazing personality calm and composed, Inspiring & brilliant individual. Who was above and beyond the limited identities, although he was a Jesuit priest, however had knowledge about other faiths. Whenever i interacted with him, i was left inspired and energized by his very presence. He was a true scientist and explorer of knowledge, he would end up making all those interacted with him , as a inspired discoverer of knowledge, Great human being, soft spoken, very practical and respected, loved all who met with him.
