There is no proper forum or time to express this but I will say it - if it means saving more lives . The word " ACCIDENT" means it is not planned. One can minimize the accidents by minimizing the risks ( safe driving, being aware of the road conditions etc). While one cannot totally eliminate accidents - they can be minimized. For this reason protective gears like HELMETS need to be worn by both the riders( pillion as well). One of the main reasons for mortality in road accidents is head injury. Again helmets can minimize the damage to certain extent. 1.I see that in Udupi district - helmets are mandatory? 2. The two wheelers riding on the highway( both ladies and gentlemen) keep changing lanes and show scant regard for safety. When trucks and buses along with cars zoom in the national highway, there is high probability of accidents. No police patrols to penalize the 2 wheelers . Can we at least contemplate and bring a change ? My condolences to the family especially the children and parents.

I totally agree with you but here I would emphasize on the Road discipline.. First and foremost the heavy vehicles/ Busses which occupy the right hand side of the lane should be Stop immediately. There should be road driving lane discipline to the two wheeler especially in overtaking a one day TV education program a must coz here in India driving licence issued is based on the visual inspection than rather the theory method where one has to understand rules and regulations for his or other safety. Let us be wise enough to educate ourselves especially on using our own means of transport.
