Saudi foreign minister attends EU- Gulf cooperation council ministerial meeting

Riyadh, Sep 23: Saudi foreign minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan participated in the EU- Gulf cooperation council ministerial meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The foreign ministers under secretary for multilateral international affairs, Dr Abdulrahman Al- Rassi, was also present in the meeting.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Prince Faisal met the head of the Libyan transitional council, Mohammed Al- Menfi. Discussions about bilateral relations and the ways to strengthen them in different fields to serve the common interest, took place . They also discussed on different areas, like the need to support international efforts aiming to achieve stability, security, programs and prosperity in Libya. Views were exchanged between them on the lines of regional and international issues of common interest.

Saudi Ambassador to the UN, Abdallah Al- Mouallimi, also attended the meeting.

Price Faisal met his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi, and his Costa- Rican counterpart Rodolfo Solano. In seperate meetings, they had discussions about bilateral relations and the means to support and promote them, as well as reviewing regional and international topics of the same interest.
