"Mother tongue strengthens the very existence of an individual.  Mother tongue is the life line of intellectuals. It  sustains the culture and strengthens cultural hierarchy.  Konkani has a long history while its pride can significantly promote Konkani campaign.  Konkani and Cultural Foundation have been engaged in spreading the fragrance of Konkani across the world," said Konkani Sardar title holder  and Konkani and Cultural Foundation president Basti Vaman Shenoy.
 


Basti Vaman Shenoy was speaking at the interactive meet that was held on Sunday March 8 at Sri Rama Mandir, Wadala here ahead of the Konkani Bhasha Abhiyan which will be held in the metro on May 1.  It will be held under  the aegis of Konkani and Cultural Foundation and Konkani Bhasha Mandal – Maharashtra.
 
Konkani Bhasha Mandal – Maharastra president P N Shanbagh, executive president John D’Silva and other office bearers J B Moraes, Lawrence D’Souza including Dr Chandrashekar Shenoy, Kamalaksha G Saraf, N N Pal, V R Kamat, Rajan C Bhat, Prakash Burude, Sudhir Kodkarni, Dilip Sashital, Shivashankar Murdeshwar, U Narasimha Kini, Dr C N Shenoy, A Vinayak, T Venkatesh Shenoy and others were involved in the meet.
