Karnataka Sangh Mumbai Election: Polipu-Jokatte Group Victorious

Mumbai, Jun 17: The current incumbent team of Bharat Kumar Polipu and Srinivas Jokatte came out victorious with a big margin, in the election held for the executive committee of Karnataka Sangh Mumbai on Sunday, June 15.

The election was conducted for the posts of four general members of the committee, as per the by laws of the Sangh. Seven candidates had filed nominations for the four vacant posts, necessiating the election. Bharat Kumar Polipu, B G Nayak, Srinivas Jokatte and S B Ramanna cornered the four seats. Chandrahas Suvarna, Dinesh B Kudva and Satish N Bangera, the other three contestants in the fray, faced defeats by a huge margin. Seven votes were found to be invalid.

Bharat got 421 votes, Jokatte 396, Nayak 378 with Ramanna succeeding in getting 318 votes. C I Shastry, B S Kadoli and N E Mendon functioned as returning officers.
