Mumbai, Jun 13: 'Sri Narayana Guru Vijaya Darshana', a Kannada work authored by Babu Shiva Poojary and published by Bilava Jagruthi Balaga, was released at a function organised at the hall of Karnataka Sangh Mumbai auditorium on the night of Saturday, June 7.

Journalist from 'Prajavania' daily Dinesh Amin Mattu, who released this voluminous work in the presence of writer V Ga Nayak, Kanyadi Sri Shruddhananda Swamiji and Shivagiri Sri Satyanandateerta Swamiji, hailed the book as the best book ever written. He appreciated the qualities of innocence, restraint exercised by the author against projecting himself as an intellectual and honesty, that set this work apart. The peaceful and democratic revolution Narayana Guru brought about did not have much influence on Dakshina Kannada district, perhaps due to the language barrier. If the people had adopted the principles for which the visionary lived, problems like communal clashes would not have occured, he analysed.

V Ga Nayak, who was the chief guest, while praising the book for having extracted the best of Narayana Guru's philosophy from various books and presenting it in a concise manner, exhorted people to follow the preachings of the great Guru, instead of worshipping his photoes.  Sri Satyanandateerta Swamiji in his address, felt that Naraya Gunu has every quality of being deemed to be the universal Guru because of his noble thoughts, lifestyle and preachings. He advised people to keep a copy of this books at their homes to get enlightment. Sri Shraddhananda Saraswati Swamiji felt that this book will enable the future generations to lead a principled life.

Author Babu Shiva Poojary, who is the honourary editor of 'Gurutu', the mouthpiece of the Balaga, was felicitated on the occasion by presenting bouquet and mementoes.Suresh Poojari who presided, advised people to read this book to keep their minds peaceful and serene and to drive away darkness from their lives.

Children presented various entertainment programmes like dance on the occasion. Artistes from Mumbai enacted a Tulu play 'Oore Gati', directed by Srinath Mulki thereafter.
