Mumbai, May 8: 'The decision taken by Sadanand Nayak, in order to popularize the social welfare activities undertaken by Rajapur Saraswat community deserves to be commended.  It is not an easy  task to manage a publication, instead it is a thorn filled way all along. One would be likely to lose everything if the publisher takes a careless step in the content of the paper. However, the success would be assured if the publishing division works diligently with unbiased reports.  It is essential to work painstakingly for the survival of any periodical,' said Sri Shivanand Saraswati Swamiji of Kavale Math, Ponda, Goa.

He was speaking after releasing the ‘Konkani Mirror’ fortnightly journal of Rajapur Saraswat community, published by Kacheri Publications in Konkani, English and Devanagari scripts.

'Konkani Mirror fortnightly has been launched to convey the social and cultural growth of Rajapur Sarawat community across the globe,' Swamiji said while expressing hope that the fortnightly would become a daily in the near future.

'The fortnightly has been envisioned with the view of broadening the horizons of community brethren settled globally and across India”, said Sadanand D Nayak, publisher and editor of ‘Konkani Mirror’ in his welcome address during the simple ceremony held at Mumbai branch of Kavale Math at Banaganga, Valkeshwar on Wednesday May 7 evening.

Rajapur Saraswat Sangh secretary P D Borkar, R S Cooperative Bank managing director Vittal D Nayak, Chitrapur Math's G V Masurkar, Sri Durga Parameshwari Credit Society secretary Achyuth Nayak, Varada Siddi Vinayak Seva Mandal secretary P S Nayak, Sacchidanand Yakshagana Troupe vice-president Vittal Prabhu, Konkani Triveni Kala Sangh president Ullas Kamath, Dr Prabhulla Hede of Kavale Math, north Karnataka G S B Co-Operative Bank director Nagesh Povkar, Canara Saraswat Association secretary Manoj Kulkarni, Vignartha maha Ganapati Mandal president Gopal Navelkar and others were present at the occasion.
