Melbourne, Feb 22: Ricky Ponting has been quite surprised to find out how lowly he was valued in the IPL.

"I thought I might have been able to attract a little more than that. I have not made runs lately so that probably did not help.

"But realistically most of Australians will not be able to play at least the first couple of seasons of the Indian Premier League," said the Australian captain.

Many key players, including Indian skipper Yuvraj Singh, expressed surprise over the bidding Ponting fetched.
