Puttur, Oct 22: The town police have arrested a person on Thursday October 18 on charges of attempting to cheat the passport officials, by affixing his photograph on the passport application applied for his brother.

The accused Ashraf, a resident of Nekkila in Narimogar village tried to cheat the passport office under Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) by affixing his photograph in the passport application of his brother, Farooq.  The forgery was detected when police constable, Deviprasad went to their house, in order to authenticate the passport application.
