Stench problem sorted near Big B's home

Mumbai, March 11 (IANS): Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is glad that the stench -- caused by a collapsed sewage line close to his bungalow Jalsa in Juhu here -- which was complained about to the civic corporation, has been taken care of. Meanwhile, he's signed a brand endorsement for a perfume.

"The work on the drainage that had been reported blocked, is perhaps over," Big B posted on his blog srbachchan.tumblr.com.

Bollywood veterans, including Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha and Big B, complained to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) about the stench that had been causing discomfort in Juhu since March 7.

An equipment is hanging about in front of the Bachchan bungalow, and it continues to divert traffic.

However, the 72-year-old says "the stench does not persist thankfully".

"The drilling machine has reached and penetrated the bottom of the Earth, and the neighbours are not complaining. Coincidentally though, I sign on for another product endorsement and its connected to fragrance and perfumery and joss sticks - most valuable in the present circumstances," he added.
