DDLJ to be screened at Maratha Mandir happily ever after

Mumbai, Feb 21: Giving in to the excessive public demand, Maratha Mandir has agreed to continue screening Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) while emphasising that the final decision will be taken after a meeting with Yash Raj Films on Wednesday.

Yash Raj Films (YRF) though has an announced on its website that the decision has been revoked and the movie will continue to be screened at the usual time of 11:30am every day. The last show of this iconic film was supposed to be on the 19th of February. YRF stated that, "We are very happy to announce that Raj & Simran will continue to draw audiences and reinforce the timeless romance the movie has embodied over the last two decades,"

Despite being screened for 1000 weeks and more right in the heart of Mumbai, the 1995 super hit movie, evoked furore amongst its fans when the theatre announced that they would cease screening it. The Management was literally swept away in a heavy influx of letters from fans beseeching them to withdraw the decision. Many even took to Twitter to express their anguish at the decision to stop the screening of this hugely popular film. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Amrish Puri and Farida Jalal.
