AC Milan's de Jong defends coach

Milan, Nov 5 (IANS): AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong insists that his side's head coach Filippo Inzaghi should not be blamed for the 0-2 loss to Palermo at home.

Inzaghi was booed by fans who were apparently disappointed with Milan's performance against Palermo Sunday. De Jong believes it was unfair, as the whole team should take the blame, reports Xinhua.

"It's not his fault. We win together, we lose together. When we lose, he's the first one to be blamed because he has to face the cameras. We have a lot of work to do," the Dutch midfielder said.

Teammate Keisuke Honda admitted that Milan have no other option than to beat high-flying Sampdoria Saturday.

"We have to win Saturday against Sampdoria. We have to show what we're made of, we can do it. We've started a new project under Inzaghi, I really like this team," the Japanese said.
