Werder Bremen to tour China in summer

Berlin, March 7 (IANS): German Bundesliga football club Werder Bremen is set for a summer tour of China to increase global brand recognition and open new markets

The trip will be slated from June 30 to July 6, featuring games against Chinese Super League sides Tianjin Teda (July 2) and Changchun Yatai (July 5), reports Xinhua.

"Financially it is lucrative for Werder," chief executive Klaus Filbry told the club website Thursday. "We have the opportunity there to open doors and establish contacts."
