Moscow, Aug 10 (IANS): The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has nominated British Olympic official Craig Reedie to head the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Reedie, an IOC vice president and a member of WADA's executive committee, is going to succeed John Fahey, a former Australian finance minister who steps down at the end of the year, reports Xinhua. Reedie was nominated Friday.
The candidature of Reedie, 72, will be put up for election at the World Conference on Doping in Sport in Johannesburg from Nov 12-15. The vote is expected to be a formality.
It is understood that WADA presidency rotates between government representatives and IOC members.
