Mangaluru, Aug 21: The Cultural Forum, department of BBA, Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC), Srinivas University, organised a rangoli competition on August 14 at the college auditorium as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who showcased their creativity, artistic talents, and patriotic spirit through colourful and meaningful rangoli designs.
The competition was organised with the objective of providing students with a creative platform to express their patriotic feelings through traditional Indian art. The theme of the competition, 'Colours of Freedom', encouraged students to creatively represent the values of freedom, unity, diversity, and national pride through rangoli patterns and designs.



Students participated with great enthusiasm and prepared attractive rangoli designs using a variety of colours, patterns, symbols, and artistic elements. Several designs reflected the spirit of Independence Day by incorporating representations of the Indian national flag, unity in diversity, cultural heritage, freedom, and other patriotic themes.
The activity provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their imagination, artistic skills, teamwork, and attention to detail.
The competition also helped students appreciate the cultural significance of rangoli as a traditional Indian art form while connecting it with the contemporary theme of patriotism. The creative participation of the students created a vibrant and colourful atmosphere at the venue and added to the festive spirit of the Independence Day celebrations.
The event served as an engaging co-curricular activity that encouraged students to develop creativity, coordination, teamwork, and confidence. It also provided a platform for students to celebrate the spirit of freedom through art and to express their love and respect for the nation in a unique and artistic manner.
The programme was successfully conducted under the valuable guidance of Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, IMC; Prof Shilpa K, head of the department, BBA; and Prof Shwetha N S, course coordinator, BBA department. Their continuous encouragement, guidance, and support contributed significantly to the successful organization of the competition.
The department sincerely extended its heartfelt gratitude to all the faculty members of the BBA department for their valuable cooperation and contribution towards the successful conduct of the event. The active participation of the students made the competition colourful, meaningful, and memorable.
