Mangaluru, Aug 21: The Cultural Forum, department of BBA, Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC), Srinivas University, organised a patriotic fancy dress competition on August 14 at 10 am at the college auditorium as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who showcased their creativity, patriotism, and appreciation for India’s rich cultural heritage.
The competition was conducted in both individual and group categories. Students actively participated by portraying freedom fighters, national leaders, cultural personalities, and various aspects of Indian culture. Through their costumes and presentations, the participants creatively depicted the history, traditions, diversity, and patriotic spirit of India.


The event was organised with the objective of providing students with a platform to express their creativity and patriotic feelings while developing their confidence, communication skills, stage presence, and teamwork. The competition also encouraged students to understand and appreciate the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the values of unity, freedom, and national pride.
The participants presented a wide range of creative and meaningful portrayals, reflecting the rich cultural diversity and heritage of India. The individual and group performances created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and patriotism among the students and faculty members. The event provided an engaging learning experience by combining creativity, cultural awareness, and national pride.
The programme also encouraged students to connect with the significance of Independence Day and understand the importance of freedom, unity, and responsible citizenship. The performances highlighted India’s journey, cultural richness, and the contributions of national leaders and freedom fighters, making the competition both educational and entertaining.
The enthusiastic participation of the students made the event lively and memorable. The competition provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their talent, imagination, confidence, and knowledge of Indian history and culture. It also strengthened the spirit of unity and togetherness among the students of the BBA department.
The programme was successfully conducted under the valuable guidance of Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, IMC; Prof Shilpa K, head of the department, BBA; and Prof Shwetha N S, course coordinator, BBA department. Their continuous encouragement, guidance, and support played an important role in the successful organisation of the programme.
