Tel Aviv, Apr 27: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has uncovered a weapons cache allegedly belonging to Hezbollah inside a children’s bedroom during a targeted raid in southern Lebanon, the military said on Monday.

The operation was carried out in the area of Aadshit al-Qusayr over the past few days. According to the IDF, the cache contained a large quantity of explosives, Kalashnikov rifles, grenades, rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), machine guns, ammunition, and other combat equipment.

The military stated that the discovery highlights Hezbollah’s alleged use of civilian spaces for militant activities. It accused the group of exploiting the civilian population in Lebanon to carry out attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF personnel.

In the same operation, the IDF said it dismantled more than 50 alleged terror infrastructure sites, including an underground compound used by Hezbollah located south of the Forward Defense Line.

In a separate incident, the IDF reported that Hezbollah launched an explosive drone towards its troops operating in the same region on Sunday. The drone was successfully intercepted, the military said.

The IDF reiterated that it would continue operations against threats targeting Israeli civilians and its forces, in line with directives issued by the political leadership.
