Molineux, Mar 7: Recalled Andy Robertson was the hero as Liverpool made amends for Tuesday’s Premier League humiliation at Wolves, powering to a 3-1 victory and sealing a spot in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Robertson opened the scoring with a crisp first-time strike from outside the area shortly after the interval and then set up Mohamed Salah with a brilliant cross for the second goal. Curtis Jones capped a fine performance with a smart finish, while Hwang Hee-Chan scored a late consolation for Wolves.
Liverpool’s defence saw solid performances from Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk, with goalkeeper Alisson Becker mostly untroubled apart from a near-lob incident. Dominik Szoboszlai held right-back duties competently, while Robertson’s marauding runs down the left highlighted his return to form, despite being partly culpable for Wolves’ late goal.

In midfield, Ryan Gravenberch controlled the game effectively, Curtis Jones impressed with his pressing and goal, and Alexis Mac Allister limped off late following a challenge by Hwang Hee-Chan.
Attackers Mohamed Salah and Rio Ngumoha were lively throughout, with Ngumoha’s dribbling causing problems for Wolves, though Cody Gakpo’s end product remained a concern.
The Reds’ win provides a morale boost ahead of next week’s Champions League clash against Galatasaray, with Robertson’s performance underscoring his importance to the squad.
