Mangaluru, Feb 27: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University organized an airport model making and presentation session on February 21 for the first year MBA aviation management students under the subject introduction to aviation management. The programme was conducted as part of experiential learning to enhance practical understanding of airport operations and management concepts.
Students actively participated in designing comprehensive airport layout models that covered both landside and airside operations. The models included key components such as runways, taxiways, aprons, terminal buildings, ATC towers, parking areas, and passenger facilities. Through their presentations, students explained aircraft movement areas, passenger flow systems, security arrangements, baggage handling, and ground operations, reflecting their understanding of airport infrastructure and coordination.



Each students presented innovative ideas such as smart airport features, sustainable practices, and efficient traffic management systems. The activity helped students strengthen teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills while applying theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios.
The session was successfully conducted under the guidance and support of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean, Institute of Aviation Studies; Roshin K Sibi, head of the department; and Maithri, MBA coordinator, along with the faculty members and staff. Overall, the programme was an enriching academic experience that significantly enhanced the professional competencies of MBA Aviation Management students.
