Udupi: Pedestrian critically injured after crane runs over him in Perampalli

Udupi, Feb 18: A pedestrian was seriously injured after being run over by a crane at Perampalli in Udupi.

The accident occurred in front of Herga Society at Perampalli when the victim was walking along the roadside. The crane driver allegedly swerved the vehicle to give way to an oncoming car and, in the process, ran over the pedestrian.

The man was trapped under the wheel of the crane and sustained grievous injuries. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where he is said to be battling for life.

The crane driver reportedly fled the scene without stopping the vehicle after the accident. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area.
