New Delhi, Jan 24: Apple recorded a robust performance in India during 2025, driven by a sharp rise in iPhone shipments, which grew 24 per cent year-on-year compared to 2024, according to new industry data released on Saturday.
A report by CyberMedia Research (CMR), showed that iPhones significantly outpaced iPads, which posted a comparatively modest annual growth of 2 per cent. Analysts said the numbers reflect sustained consumer demand for Apple’s premium smartphone lineup in the country.
“Apple’s overall performance in India during 2025 points to strong demand fundamentals,” said Prabhu Ram, vice president of the Industry Research Group at CMR. He added that iPads continued to hold ground, supported by refreshed product launches that strengthened Apple’s presence in both productivity-focused and premium device segments.

The clear star of the year was the iPhone 16 series, which emerged as Apple’s most successful smartphone lineup in 2025. It accounted for 57 per cent of total iPhone shipments, making it the top-performing model range of the year. The iPhone 15 series followed with a 24 per cent share, while the newer iPhone 17 series captured 10 per cent. The iPhone 16e also made a meaningful impact, contributing 6 per cent to overall shipments.
Despite the strong full-year performance, iPhone shipments dipped slightly in the final quarter of 2025, falling 3 per cent compared to the same period in 2024. In contrast, iPads witnessed a dramatic surge in demand, recording a 95 per cent year-on-year growth in Q4, signalling rising momentum for tablets toward the end of the year.
The iPhone 16 series maintained its dominance in the October–December quarter, securing a 50 per cent market share. The iPhone 17 series gained traction during the same period with a 24 per cent share, while the iPhone 15 series accounted for 17 per cent. The iPhone 16e made up the remaining 8 per cent.
On the tablet front, Apple saw a different pattern. For the full year, the iPad 11 series led the market decisively, commanding 68 per cent of total iPad shipments. The iPad Air 2025 series followed with a 21 per cent share, while the iPad Pro models from 2024 and 2025 together accounted for a smaller slice of the market.
The trend became even more pronounced in the final quarter of 2025, with the iPad 11 series expanding its share to 76 per cent. The iPad Pro 2025 series captured 13 per cent, while the iPad Air 2025 series held a 9 per cent share, underlining Apple’s growing tablet momentum at the close of the year.
