Media Release

Mangaluru, Jan 18: Valencia Church witnessed a profound expression of faith and unity as Confraternity Sunday (Compricho Aithar) was celebrated with great fervour on Sunday, January 18, as part of the preparations for the annual parish feast. A large number of parishioners gathered to take part in the solemn observances.

The Eucharistic celebration commenced and was presided over by Fr Alwyn Richard D’Souza, director of Family Life Centre, diocese of Mangalore and Guardian of St Zuze Vaz Home, who served as the main celebrant. He was joined by Fr Roque D’Sa parish priest and Fr Pradeep Rodrigues assistant parish priest as co-celebrants.

Following the Holy Mass, a grand Eucharistic procession was held. The Holy Eucharist, reverently placed in a golden monstrance, was carried in procession through the church. The brass band added to the solemnity of the occasion by rendering devotional hymns, creating a prayerful and uplifting atmosphere.

The procession concluded at the church, where the faithful assembled for Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, once again led by Fr Alwyn. The celebration of Confraternity Sunday stood as a moving testimony to the deep-rooted faith, devotion and unity of the Valencia parish.
