Mangaluru: Bank of Maharashtra expands network with Kulur branch inauguration

Mangaluru, Dec 23: Bank of Maharashtra inaugurated its new Kulur branch at the Commerce Centre on the Kulur–Kavoor Main Road here on Tuesday, December 23. The inauguration marked another step in the bank’s expansion across Dakshina Kannada district, aimed at providing enhanced banking services to customers.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony symbolising the formal opening of the branch. The event was attended by dignitaries, customers, and senior officials of the bank. The branch was inaugurated by Bava Mohammed Farookh, director, FIZA Group of Companies, Bengaluru. S S Nayak, chartered accountant and chief guest, and Anil Poojary, former opposition leader, Mangaluru City Corporation, were present as guests of honour.

Addressing the gathering, S S Nayak spoke on the crucial role played by public sector banks in nation-building and financial inclusion. He appreciated Bank of Maharashtra for its customer-centric approach and commitment to ethical banking.

Stressing the importance of quality service, he remarked, “Banking should be done in such a way that customers leave the branch with a twinkle on their face and not wrinkles,” underlining the need for courteous service, transparency, and trust.

Other dignitaries also addressed the gathering, commending the bank’s consistent growth, digital initiatives, and its wide range of loan and savings products catering to individuals, professionals, entrepreneurs, farmers, and senior citizens.

The newly inaugurated Kulur Branch will offer a comprehensive suite of banking services, including housing loans, vehicle loans, MSME finance, agricultural loans, gold loans, savings and current accounts, NRI services, digital banking, UPI facilities, and various government-backed savings schemes.

Saravanan Nitish S, branch manager, welcomed the guests, while Suchith M D’Souza, zonal manager, Hubballi zone, highlighted the bank’s vision of expanding accessible and technology-driven banking services. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
