Mangaluru, Dec 20: In view of the Karavali Utsava being organised by the Dakshina Kannada district administration from December 20 till January 2, 2026, the police department has issued advisories and guidelines to ensure smooth traffic movement in the city. The festival will be held daily after 5 pm during this period.

As various programmes will be conducted every day, a large number of dignitaries, members of the public and vehicles are expected to gather, which may lead to traffic congestion on certain city roads. In this backdrop, the police department has issued the following instructions to facilitate smooth traffic flow.

Parking of vehicles is strictly prohibited on both sides of the road from Lalbagh to Karavali Grounds.

Members of the public attending the programmes are instructed to park their vehicles only at designated parking locations.

Parking signboards have been installed along the programme routes, and the public has been urged to follow the instructions displayed on these boards.

For vehicles coming to attend the events, parking has been arranged at the following locations: Urwa Market Ground (cars); near Gandhinagar Government School (Press Club) (two-wheelers/cars); Ladyhill Church parking (two-wheelers/cars); Mannagudda Canara School Ground (two-wheelers/cars); Thimmapa Hotel premises (two-wheelers/cars); Scout Guide Hall premises behind Karavali Grounds (two-wheelers); Urwa Market Road (two-wheelers); and Hat Hill Road (two-wheelers).

The advisory has been issued by the police commissioner through an official press release, urging the public to cooperate for the smooth conduct of the festival and hassle-free traffic movement.
