Mangaluru: St Aloysius Evening College BCom 1995 batch marks 30-year reunion

Mangaluru, Dec 13: The reunion of the BCom 1995 batch of St Aloysius Evening College was held on Friday December 12, at the Platinum Banquet Hall of A J Grand Hotel, Mangaluru, marking 30 years since graduation. The event brought together alumni to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate their shared journey.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Jayesh, former president of the college, who expressed his happiness at witnessing the enthusiastic participation of alumni and faculty members.

Alumni fondly shared their college experiences, memorable incidents and life journeys since graduation. Many expressed their gratitude to the institution and faculty for the guidance and support they received, which they acknowledged as a strong foundation for their professional achievements.

Former and present faculty members shared their joy at reuniting with their former students, appreciated their accomplishments, and recalled their experiences of teaching at the evening college.

Prof Dennis Fernandes highlighted that evening college students were focused, disciplined and enthusiastic learners. Prof Manuel Tauro shared his enriching experience of teaching at the evening college, noting that it enhanced his teaching skills and provided greater satisfaction compared to the day college. Prof Donald Lobo appreciated the efforts taken to organise the reunion and acknowledged the hard work and dedication of students who balanced academics with daytime employment. Kiran Vasant remarked that evening college teachers were particularly concerned, compassionate and student-oriented.

The presence of Prof Jayapal, Prof Sylvia, Girish and Daijiworld marketing manager Praveen Tauro added grace and significance to the occasion. Non-teaching staff members of the evening college were also present, making the reunion more inclusive and meaningful.

The alumni honoured the professors in recognition of their invaluable contribution to the academic and personal development of students.

The gathering was entertained by melodious songs performed by Shrikant and Subash Kini, which added joy and nostalgia to the event.

The reunion concluded with a sumptuous dinner, followed by dance and informal interactions, providing ample opportunity for fellowship and bonding.

The 30-year reunion of the BCom 1995 batch was an emotional and memorable event that strengthened the bonds among former classmates and renewed their connection with the institution. The programme concluded on a note of togetherness, with a promise to meet again in the future.     Reunion of school/college mates after 25-30 years is a great feeling. None can explain that feeling, except those who attended such an event.
