Beltangady, Dec 11: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has submitted a 3,923-page preliminary report to the Beltangady court in connection with the Dharmasthala village skull case, revealing that a six-member gang was involved in a planned conspiracy.

According to the report, the accused — Chinnayya (known as Mask Man) as A1, Mahesh Shetty Timarodi as A2, Girish Mattannavar as A3, Vitthal Gowda as A4, T Jayanth as A5, and Sujatha Bhat as A6 — were confirmed to have taken part in the plot. The report states that the entire plan was orchestrated by luring Chinnayya with money.

The SIT submitted the report to the court on November 20, naming all six as accused and detailing the progress of the investigation while seeking directions for further inquiry. The hearing on the report has concluded, and the court has reserved its order for December 26.

Government prosecutor Divyaraj Hegde represented the SIT, submitting relevant documents and urging the court to allow the next legal steps. The additional civil judge of Beltangady heard the arguments and reserved the order.

SIT officials submitted the report under Section 215 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), seeking legal action against the accused for offences related to giving false evidence.
