Brahmavar, Dec 10: A 26-year-old tipper driver died on the spot after the vehicle lost control and crashed into a roadside tree upon falling into a pothole on the Petri–Madi road in Cherkady village on Tuesday morning around 7 am.

The deceased has been identified as Srikant, the driver of the tipper. The vehicle, owned by Ranjan Shetty of Nittoor, was being driven by Srikant from Nittoor to load jelly.

When the tipper was moving along the Petri–Madi road in Cherkady, it reportedly fell into a pothole at a curve, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle then veered to the right side of the road and rammed into a large tree.

The front portion of the vehicle was badly damaged, and Srikant, who was trapped in the driver’s seat, suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot.
