Udupi: Pedestrian dies after being hit by bike on NH-66

Udupi, Dec 10: A pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a bike while crossing the road on National Highway 66 near Uchila Mosque, late night on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Ronald D’Souza (67) from Kinnigoli. A bike travelling from Uchila towards Kaup is said to have hit Ronald D’Souza as he was crossing the road. He fell onto the road and sustained severe injuries. He was shifted to a private hospital in Udupi, but succumbed to his injuries despite medical treatment.

The injured was taken to the hospital in an SDPI ambulance with the help of social workers Jalaluddin Uchila and Hanif.

A case has been registered at Padubidri police station.
